About the Artist
Gem De Bustos is a contemporary artist from the Philippines, now based in Ontario, Canada. A self-taught painter, Gem’s work reflects her dedication and innate talent. Her art is deeply influenced by over a decade of extensive travel as a flight attendant, weaving a rich tapestry of cultural experiences into her creations.
In 2020, Gem embraced a full-time role as both a mother and an artist, marking a transformative phase in her life that allowed her to fully dedicate herself to her craft. This decision unlocked new levels of creativity and depth in her work, leading to numerous commissioned pieces for clients worldwide.
With a background in communication arts, interior design, and ongoing studies in Business Marketing, Gem combines her diverse skills to strategically navigate the art world. Her work resonates with a wide audience, captivating art enthusiasts globally.
Gem is a member of the Women's Art Association of Hamilton and recently showcased her work in numerous group exhibits. Through her paintings, she offers a visual journey into her vibrant experiences and emotions, inviting viewers to explore the profound depths of her creative expression.
